Didem Madak
The great Turkish poet we recently lost is generally remembered on March 8th, but those who truly know him recall his verses in every aspect of life, gaining a heartfelt smile. We believe he would want to be remembered for his extraordinary life journey and playfulness, especially with his famous poem “The Tree of Sighs.” If we were to translate one of its lines, it would go like this:
“If a woman’s hand were to touch the world, Zeyna! If it were shaken like a heavy carpet, dust would rise into the air.”
